Patron XO Cafe Noir secret party

Ok so while I was on duty covering VooDoo Fest in New Orleans for one of my many, many jobs my editor gets invited to a secret party hosted by Patron but he doesn't live in Louisiana anymore so he shot me the invite and I was put on the list. So first of all I had to be a secret agent to get my wristband, the email I received told me to be a certain spot at a certain time to get the wristband and I would get actual directions from there and then when I'm at the certain place at the certain time I get my wrist band and a cup of coffee with the directions cleverly hidden on the cup holder of the coffee. So after my James Bond stint I made my way to the party which was at a Wax Museum -which was awesome- and the rest was an official launch party to the new XO Cafe Noir line of liquor from Patron and there were free samples all around. Upstairs was an open bar and live entertainment from a jazz band and dancers. People were mingling and drinking and it was just a great time...hopefully I get more Cloak and Dagger style missions to go to parties...it was awesome lol here are some pics.

Oh yea.

Nice lamp

Gotta get one for my house...completely made up of Patron bottles.
The drinks being served...
Drinks galore!!

A perfect blend of my favorite things...Alcohol and Coffee....

Big Easy was my favorite!! I had like six...don't ask how I made it home wasn't nothin but the Lord!!! lol

I want these pillows!!!

California Pizza Kitchen Dinner Date

Well me and my ex went on a lil dinner date -as friends- to California Pizza Kitchen off of Perkins Rowe here BR about a month ago and we argued over who was gonna pay...(I won, so I paid lol) and it was so good so I decided to blog about it and what we ate/drank.

First up was our appetizer: Spinach Artichoke Dip with those black and yellow tortilla chips...it was good.
Her ate up Pepperoni Pizza lol We both ate it and it was delicious...Highly reccommend it for first timers.
Her drink: Peach/Mango Sangria...really sweet and not overbearing at all must have for those who like sweet drinks with a small kick...I drank some too...and it was good I bought us another one lol.
My food: Four Cheese Ravioli...great for pasta lovers (like me) and veggie fiends lol it was really good just needed a lil dash of salt and it was rollin!!....it was so awesome.
My drink: Chocolate Kiss Kiss Mojito...Didn't want to get it at first cause it sound really girly (with two snaps and a circle) and usually chocolate and alcohol doesn't mix well but I was surprised it was so good and made me want more. P.S. the waiter talked me into it and I'm glad he did.
Well thats my review of our dinner, it was kind of on the expensive side but that was mainly due to us being alcoholics buying drinks but trust me when I say it was well worth it. Great atmosphere, right next to the movie theater , and the waiters are grade A. So check the place out when you get a chance...and take a date too!!

NOLA Fashion Week Update

So I had to take a few days off since Monday to go to class but today I was able to catch the two Runway Shows for Varela + Brooks and Matthew Arthur: Apparel Architecture and they were amazing. Both were visually stimulating and the models were out-standing in both shows here are some of my pics from tonight's show.

The first is Varela + Brooks, their website is: http://varelaandbrooks.com/

NOLA Fashion Week Updates

First day-Fashion Photography:
So I am a volunteer with NOLA Fashion Week and I got a chance to work the Fashion Photography workshop hosted by The New Orleans Photo Alliance at this awesome cocktail lounge called LePhare and I got a chance to learn about lighting and some other things dealing with fashion photography. I also got a chance to shoot with two beautiful models, Alex Vorhoff and Teri Wyble, and these are a few shots I took....

 Model: Alex Vorhoff

Homeless Blues

So basically I am still without a place of my own....and its killin me!! I dont mind sleeping on the floor but I would love for it to be at my own house!! I am truly blessed that my lil brother is letting me crash at his place but I gotta get a spot for myself its just how I am. Its crazy how down and out I feel because of this but hopefully it wont last too long. If the lord is willing I will have a place of my own by myself, like I have always wanted. The next 12 months will be all about me and my solitude which I think I really need in my life after everything that has happened over the past ten months....but oh well.

Until next time,
Peace

....and Three months later

So last time I did a post I was tad bit upset but Im better now, however, it was a long three months to get to where I am now and I still have a small ways to go.

So where do I start?

Ok, lets start at the end April. The semester was closing and of course I had to deal with that one A-hole teacher who just so happens to teach the last class I need to graduate. No matter what I did in this class I could never quite measure up to whatever bullshit standard she wanted me to be at (nor did I help the situation by not kissing her ass like she wanted) so as you can guess I got a D in the class which isn't enough for me to graduate with so now I am taking this class elsewhere because I refuse to retake the same class for the third time under the same *insert appropriate explitive* which is fine with me anything to get me across the stage in July. Then after that I was off to New Orleans for the New York Times Student Journalism Institute for two weeks with my lil bro where, in my opinion, we kill't it!! (yes I said killed but with a T lol) While we were there we met with key people in the business including Jill Abramson and Dean Baquet (the managing editor and washington DC bureau chief respectively) who just recently got promotions to Executive editor and managing editor (again respectively). Along with them we got to know Don Hecker, Sandra Stevenson, LaSharah Bunting (my new sugar mama lol), Chris Drew, Aaron Pilhofer, Troy Griggs, and a bunch of others that I am too lazy to type in as well as 20 other students who I believe will shine in the journalism world. After many sea sickening boat rides, almost a hundred assignment (a peice), and 56 hour days lol we graduated and joined a larger family of journalists.

Now to recent weeks I return to Baton Rouge in the hopes that everything I did before I left was all straightened out...and as usual they weren't. I am currently bumming at other peoples houses until I can wrestle down a spot for myself, one of my classes for summer school was cancelled and then re-opened (after I threatened some people of course), crazy financial aid stuff, and other craziness.

But through it all I have been taking it stride.

Thankfully things are starting to look up now, school is just about taken care of and I'm close to getting my own place this week...and there is money in my near future. So yeah....things are good thanks to God and lots of prayer.

Well thats my wrap up for the past three months, new things to come: Singing lessons (again), maybe some acting classes, internship, Grad school, and hopefully a closer relationship with a friend...who knows keep ya eye out cause you know I make moves constantly...and each move is a Stroke of Genius...
